Project Outputs

Services Package on Career Guidance and Development

This intellectual output is a response to the radical and rapid perspective of digital and green transformation that SMEs are facing. To maintain their employability, SMEs workers must be involved in lifelong learning paths. Career guidance and career counseling services play a crucial role in supporting decisions about further learning (Cedefop, Improving career prospects.., 2016). Therefore, the output is a package of guidance and career development (CGD) services for SMEs low-skilled workers. It is a set of practical tools that CGD operators and VET trainers can use when providing CGD services addressed to SMEs workers in low-skilled positions. It also provides supportive guidance on the roadmapping process that produces a list of skills and job profiles that will be required by SMEs in the future.

The Output is a range of services available online that CGD operators and VET trainers will use to assist and support low-skilled workers in SMEs. It is made by the following sections:

  • Introduction to the Pathway.

  • Guidelines for the Use of the Tools for CGD Operators and Trainers: these are in the form of text, references to the tools, and instructions about how to manage the practical activities addressed to the workers, for CGD operators and VET trainers.

  • Professional Operators Tools: these contain the various tools used by CGD operators and VET trainers for the self-assessment-reflection phases, personal visioning support, personal development plan, etc. These tools contain practical activities, grids, questionnaires, checklists, exercises, self-awareness notebooks, etc. These are divided into two documents: Self-development Notebook and 10 Practical Activities.

  • Handbook about Advantages to Have Dynamic Workers That Develop Themselves: this handbook introduces the benefits of working with educated workers for employers.

  • Services Design Handbook: it contains the description of the services (self-assessment, professional self-awareness journey, personal development plan etc). It describes: the satisfied needs and the created value, the delivery process, the involved CGD operators and VET trainers and their roles, the delivery methods. It is very helpful to implement the services.

  • Future Competencies: a collection of enabling skills emerging from the future. These are the skills that the participating SMEs need coming from the foresight and Roadmapping process. Also, the findings that emerged from the PESTEL analysis carried out in each country (Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic) are available to the worker to facilitate the decision process.
